How To Use Kaffir Lime Leaves ?


Kaffir lime leaves are used in several Asian dishes. Thai cuisine uses it in almost every dish. It has a strong smell and taste. The Kaffir lime tree is a native of Indonesia. Some of the cuisines it is used in commonly are Thai, Indonesian, Cambodian and Lao cuisines. In the United Sates, these leaves are available in most of the Asian marts. Kaffir lime leaves should be used as whole while simmering soups, and also they can be used to garnish curries. In case you are making fish cakes, you can shred the leaves and add them. The tender young leaves can be used with salads. It gives out the best flavor when used as a garnish. Some of the popular Thai curry dishes like the Tom Yum use Kaffir lime leaves generously. In Asian bouquet garnishments, Kaffir lime leaves are frequently used with lemongrass and ginger. A paste along with ginger can also be used as a marinade for chicken, steak, pork or lamb.
