Consuming 100 grams of eggplant will give you 35 kilocalories of energy.

The vegetable does not contain any cholesterol and can be used to reduce your cholesterol levels by almost 30 percent. People suffering from Type 2 diabetes are often advised to eat this vegetable to manage their condition. The vegetable also contains anti-oxidants that help in preventing cancer. In addition, eggplant contains compounds like hytonutrients, flavonoids and phenolic compounds that help to eliminate toxins from the body and also offer protection to the membranes covering the brain cells.
