How Do I Grill Corn On The Cob ?

Corn has been an elegant gourmet part of dinner parties and picnics. Corn on the Cob has a distinct flavor, sometimes smoky yet succulent and sweet. How do you grill corn on the cob?

There are three different ways to grill corn -- you can cook them with the husks, or boil the ear of corn first and then grilled directly, or boil the ear first and then grill in foil.

For the first type of preparation of cooking them in the husks, you will need to peel back the outer layer of husks, but leaving it attached to the base of the corn. Remove all the layers of husks and silk completely and rinse the ear of the corn properly. Once done, pull the husks back again on the corn and soak in water for about half an hour. If you want to add more flavor to the corn, you can spread seasoned or plain butter under the husks on the corn before you grill them.

You will need to grill the corn for about twenty to twenty-five minutes turning it from time-to-time. Do not worry if the husk or silk burns as the corn will be cooked well. Wait for about 10 minutes for it to cool before plunging your teeth into the cob.

For grilling corn after boiling, follow the same method of cleaning the silk and husk as described above. Rinsing and boil in a large vessel for around 10 minutes. You will need to preheat the grill to a medium-low before placing the corn. Grill the boiled corn for a few minutes until you see them getting a different texture.

For boiling and grilling corn with a foil, repeat the same steps as boiling for 10 minutes. You can add seasoning such as butter, pepper and salt before you secure the corn with a foil. Grill on medium-low heat for 10 minutes and then remove foil.
