How Long Do You Boil Beets ?
Cooking beets is pretty simple, and is not much of a fuss when compared to cooking other vegetables. Before you decide to boil the beets, remember to wash them thoroughly so as to remove any mud or dirt from the beet or the top. If you cut off both ends before washing, it could save you a lot of time trying to get the dirt out of the tops and the bottom. Remember to trim of the ends before boiling. |

You can start by placing the washed and trimmed beets in a pan used for roasting with a little water to add the steam for the beets to cook. Boiling the beets at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for a minimum of thirty to forty-five minutes with the pan covered by foil can cook the beets until tender. Once you remove them from the pan, you can peel the skins under a running tap water and then cut to your desired shape or size.
Boiling beets in an open mouthed vessel can take approximately 20 to 30 minutes until they get tender. You can use a fork or sharp knife to check occasionally to see when the beets are done. If you want to use your microwave oven to cook your beets, you can place them in the microwave bowl with a little water and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes until tender. However, it is best to bake beets rather than boiling them since boiling tends to make them watery. Bake beets for 45 minutes with the skin until they become tender. Enjoy a nutritious meal with beets without worrying about the calories.
