Before actually cooking asparagus, you must wash them thoroughly and clean it to remove all kinds of sand and dirt. After cleaning, pat them dry with a clean soft kitchen towel. Take a kitchen knife and cut the asparagus in sections. These asparagus sections can be either stir fried or blanched for using in vegetable dips. All of us know how important it is to have asparagus because of its nutritional value. Asparagus contains vitamins like A, C, E and also K. Apart from vitamins, it also has thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, phosphorus, copper, manganese and selenium. Iron, magnesium, zinc and even dietary fibers are the other important nutrients that are present in this single vegetable. And on top of all these, it serves the purpose of an excellent anti-oxidant and anti-carcinogen. What more can one asks for? Regular consumption of asparagus will provide you with all the essential nutrients.

Most of us generally cook asparagus either by boiling, steaming or microwaving it. Stir frying is generally avoided because it reduced some of its nutritional value. Hence, in order to enhance its taste the best thing would be to sauté it properly. Sautéing the asparagus would give it a little crunchy feel and increases its taste. Let us discover how to sauté the asparagus perfectly.

Once the asparagus has been cleaned thoroughly, trim the stems and snap off the each ends of asparagus spear. The spear should break automatically at its natural place. Then put virgin olive oil or butter that has been melted on the asparagus. Mix the butter or olive oil well with each asparagus and let the veggie stand for about 20-30 minutes. Now, put these marinated asparagus in a skillet and add salt, pepper according to your taste. After adding all these ingredients, the time has come to sauté them. For this, you can use a sautéing pan. Use any kind of oil of your choice. Put the pan in an oven and then sauté it over a medium-high for about 3 to 6 minutes. Keep it on the stove until the asparagus turns bright green in color. Touch it with a spoon to check whether it has been cooked well.
