Korean Herbal Medicine

Several civilizations in the world, like China, Japan, India and Egypt and even Korea, have been using herbal medications for treatment of various disorders and health problems. All these are ancient civilizations and they have been using these medications to provide relief for minor ailments.

Usage of herbal medications could have originated in China but eventually it also spread to Korea. Some ancient Korean scriptures denote that medicine and its knowledge came to them from China. Koreans used a range of native medications and they also adopted some from Buddhism and India. There was also medicine books published in Korea in ancient times.

They soon learn the values in vegetables and various herbs including cilantro and also studied their curative properties. Koreans believe in an energy purifying therapy and they use teas made out of various herbs for this purpose. Some of them are very bitter but are considered very well for health. Korean herbal medicine is not as popular as the Chinese herbal medications but they do derive a lot of their values from the latter. Both are similar and unique in their own ways. Even the Koreans believe in positive and negative energy just like the Chinese.

Some of the Korean herbs are Korean ginseng, garlic, peppers, green teas, onion. However, these herbs are common to rest of the world and Koreans cannot alone make a claim for them. However, how the Koreans use it and Chinese or Indians use it differs from each other's philosophy. In the end, it is the goodness of the same herbs that is being used to cure various problems.
