Herbs are among the friendliest of plants. They do not need much of gardening and can grow anywhere literally. They can also grow well in small trenches and pots by your window sill. They do need a lot of sunlight to survive. Having certain herbs handy while you are cooking is a great benefit. Some herbs like mint and parsley are used frequently. Also, they are quite expensive if you have to buy in a store. They are more expensive than the vegetables.

Seasoning your food with herbs is also a good way to protect and maintain your health. Most of the herbs are either small plants or they grow as short plants. Some even creep on the ground. For example, mint eventually starts creeping all over the place. If you are planning to grow mint and parsley, do not put them in the same pot. If you do this, the parsley will not grow well. Garlic, ginger and onions are very difficult to grow as they need plenty of sunlight and are not suitable for all weathers. These are some little things you will need to remember while herb gardening.

If you want to grow the herbs on the ground, then demarcate small areas for each herb. Start with the easier ones like cilantro, parsley, and mint. These leaves are something that you will use frequently. Also, try growing thyme. An herb garden should be small and compact and they do not need much of space. They can easily fit into one small patch.
