Herb-Gardening-Design      Herbs are among the friendliest of plants. They do not need much of gardening and can grow anywhere literally. They can also grow well in small trenches and pots by your window sill. They do need a lot of sunlight to survive. Having certain herbs handy while you are cooking is a great benefit. Some herbs like mint and parsley are used frequently. Also, they are quite expensive if you have to buy in a store. They are more expensive than the vegetables. More..

Herb And Vegetable Gardening Basics

Gardening can be a fun activity whether you are growing flowers or herbs or vegetables. Growing your own herbs that you can use in your daily cooking is not at all a bad idea. Everybody uses some amount of mint or cilantro in their everyday cooking. If you do not use then you should look up some recipes. However, growing cilantro, parsley or mint in your own backyard or by your windowsill does not take much of effort. Also, these plants prove to be extremely useful and healthful.

You can also grow some simple vegetables like tomatoes and Okras and beans in your backyard. Also, consider having a vegetable and herbs garden together as it may be an ideal thing for your health everyday.

When you are mixing both herbs and vegetables are careful how you do it. Vegetable plants usually tend to grow tall and if you put the herbs in between then eventually the vegetable plants will take up all the sun starving the herbs.

The best way to grow a vegetable and herb garden is to divide the land into squares. If you are planting tomatoes in the first square, it would be a mistake. Tomatoes need a lot of sun, but they tend to creep all over the place. So, plant them in a corner and restrict their growth to the square. You can plant garlic or parsley adjacent to tomatoes. Always make sure that your plants are going to get ample sunlight and know which plants grow tall and which grow like bushes and creepers. This will help you plan out garden and also aid in selecting the right place for the vegetable or herb in your garden.
