The most harmful pests a garden can have are aphids. However, here are some instructions to show you how to get rid of aphids.
Firstly, make sure that your garden is infested with aphids. Look into your garden keenly, and see whether there are any small green bugs on the buds of flowers. Try to remove the bugs manually while wearing gloves or by using water stream. Remove the infected area by cutting it off with a pair of pruning shears. If there are any flying aphids, get rid off them by placing traps strategically in the infected area.
Next, make a non-toxic insecticide in your own home. Mix one cup of vegetable oil with one tablespoon of liquid dish washing soap. Take one cup of warm water, and mix around a tablespoon and half of the oil and soap mixture. Shake well and transfer this concoction to a spray bottle. Now, spray the entire plant with this mixture. Make sure that you do not forget to spray on the under surfaces of the leaves.
To make sure that the aphids will not enter your garden again, place some insects like ladybugs and green lacewings. These are natural predators of aphids. Avoid planting trees such as birch trees because they attract aphids. You can also look to grow plant like spearmint, sweet clover, Queen Anne’s lace and sweet fennel. These plants tend to attract those insects that are natural predators of aphids.
