When orchids are being grown by us at home, these plants depend on us to supply the nutrients they need to thrive.Orchids growing in nature depend on nutrients washed down by rainwater, bird deposits and decaying leaves. Almost all fertilizers that we can buy off the shelves contain the key ingredients necessary for healthy plant growth. Some may requite the addition of trace components, which offer some kind of benefit to the plant. It is important to be aware of the specific requirements of these plants and provide them with the ‘growing power’ needed to promote healthy plants and beautiful, long-lasting blooms.
