Let us start with the soil. It must be well-drained, since waterlogged soil will lead to root decay. Dead scales and leaves need to be removed regularly. After bloom care of orchid plants is very important, and can be taken care of smoothly if you are aware of a few basic caring tips. Let us start with the root. Healthy roots are either green or white in color. So, if there are any brown or black roots, then remove them.
Next, prepare a healthy soil mixture for repotting and then place the plant. If there are long external roots, either tuck or trim. Make sure your repotted orchid plant is never exposed to direct sunlight for at least a few weeks. This will give the plant time to settle down. Keep feeding and caring for the orchid regularly and new spikes will appear within the 6 to 9 months.
