Aeroponics is the method of growing plants without using soil. In this method the seeds are germinated using coil like material or wool and then the plants are suspended in air. The top and the bottom of the plant are exposed, and they are sprayed with nutrient rich water to grow.
In order to make a home based aeroponics system you will need a bucket, an aquarium pump, and if you have a garden hose pipe or tube. A small part of the pipe is enough. Make a nutrient solution or you can buy the readymade solution. Tube inlets will have to be drilled with several holes at equidistant. The tube then is wrapped around the container, starting from the bottom and ending at the top. And, the container is then plugged or closed at one end. The plants will need to be watered or sprayed with nutrients until the roots start to hang out of the container.
The aquarium pump keeps pumping the nutrients from the container in small and consistent quantities. However, you need to keep refilling the nutrient solution. That is the only disadvantage with the homemade system. The container can also use a square transparent box, and it can be connected with a pump and sprayer.
